Current Mission

MediaOpinions believes in the power of media to create great social change. Our goal is to use the media to educate, inform, and deliver critiques that will shape and change the current mainstream media to promote social and environmental responsibility. We hope you will join us and become part of our work for a socially and environmentally conscious future.

What can be changed to the Organization

  • Title of the organization and stop its focus on opinions since it's not feasible to focus on gathering many people's opinions about the media and it's better to focus on creating, searching, and critiquing soc/env conscious media and let whoever have an opinion comment w/o actively searching for them
  • Remove "change the current mainstream media"--just mention we create, identify, and present stories that express opinions and perspectives rarely featured in mainstream media
  • Narrow the focus to producing films/year-start out small before expanding to other medium
  • Add "Create media to make the world better" to mission statement
  • Add movie section
  • Draw up a blueprint of the site implementing the tips here
  • Focus on films and media that make the world a better place and don't focus on participation too much at this point-people will input their opinions, ratings, comments, etc if they identify with the content
  • Social-and-Environmental Consciousness Ratings (1-5 stars, 5 being the highest):

-how about consolidate all the social categories and average the ratings out? And don't bother with programming, but put Form Box where people can submit through email of their ranking like FRONTLINE/World.

Minority-friendly: 4 stars

Women-friendly: 5 stars

Gay-friendly: 5 stars

Environmentally-friendly: 3 star

Disability-friendly: NA

Animal-friendly: NA
