Animals of the Fallen Empire

Predators of the Orcish Lands.

Many of the common animals in the realm of the Fallen Empire are very similar to the animals that we know. Some are a bit different in some ways.

Remember that most animals fear men and will not attack unless provoked. Even then they will usually flee. Most animals also fear fire. They might not be driven off by a torch, but animals will almost never approach a campfire.

Domestic Animals

Guard Dog

These trained steers are hardier and easier to keep than horses.

Wild Animals

Adder

Constrictor snakes averaging 15', but known to reach up to 30', common in the Orcishlands. They tend to strike from concealment. First biting an arm or leg, to clamp ahold of their prey, then immediately wrapping their coils around the target. They usually won't attack if outnumbered, but once the fight starts they never flee.

Bear

Living mostly in the hills and forest they are often spotted fishing on the banks of rivers. They are not afraid of people and will walk right around them. Bears will usually even run away if chased. If struck however they will generally go berserk, attacking anything that moves and some things that don't. This state lasts until they can no longer find anything to kill, or they are dead.

Large Boar

Panthers roam the plains and badlands of the Orcishlands. They often prey on lone orcs.

Wolves live in the hills and the forest north of the barony. During the winter they will often wander down into civilized lands. Wolves are not afraid of men, but they do realize that men are dangerous. If they are hungry enough they will hunt people, armed or not.
