Reason for Creating BYUIwiki
This site was created for multiple purposes, all of them relating to the problems with BYUI.edu homepage.
Problems
- Many of the links on byui.edu were broken
- Many of the club websites were outdated
- A lack of student participation on the website
- The slow rate at which some parts of the site is updated
The solution to all these problems is a wiki run by every person on campus. Information can be posted as quickly as it is generated. Detailed maps (soon to come) will help out anyone who is unfamiliar with the campus. All clubs now have a website, or can have one as soon as they make one that links here. This site shall function like a giant encyclopedia for all things BYU Idaho, that is, with your help. This website also can be anything else that it needs to be.
This project was started on February 12, 2006 to give students a more proactive approach towards their life at school. It is the goal of this site to grow above and beyond the original design plan created for it, and become a tool to be used by the students for whatever purpose may arise.
