Darkness X

From BluWiki

Prologue

It was a day like any other. The sun was bright; the weather was nice and warm. However, nothing affected Stanley. He was as usual, in his lab. He would get up at dawn and start working in his lab. He would work all day, all the way up-to midnight. One would find him in his lab breaking, smashing, exploding chemicals. In reality, he had no real job. Not many people had seen him; everybody thought he was a crazy scientist. I was the only one who did not find anything wrong with him. I just thought he was intelligent and had a habit of thinking about science, and then put it into action without thinking about the consequences (which usually resulted in explosions). He was smart but crazy at the same time. Usually he reminded me of the great scientist Albert Einstein, although I thought it would be impossible for somebody like Stanley to be like Einstein. One must not forget nothing is impossible.

Stanleys lab was massive. Stanley had around 20 computers placed on counters. He had lots of big machinery around the lab. So wonderful that it would take a person at least 10 years to make lab as good as this.

The amazing thing about his lab was that all this was located right in the basement of his house. From outside, while standing on the road, the house looked like a perfect little house. Even when you walked in, it would be like a typical house. The only odd thing was the door, behind lay the great lab of the great scientist Stanley. If you ever see Stanley open the door (after typing in those fancy codes for the door), you would realize that it is computerized. It would look very big, thick and rectangular steel door, with many screws screwed in tight, there were wires sticking out of the steel and going back in the holes of the door. There was constant releasing of gas or smoke through the different layers of steel. Stanley told me that the gas was there to keep any kind of liquid or gas away from entering the lab, not even the outside temperature would affect the lab on the inside. He also told me that this material rushed through all the walls surrounding the lab, even if there was a hurricane, flood or even a volcano eruption, it would not affect the lab whatsoever. The whole thing was just amazing. When you enter through the door, you would end up on these bright shining railed stairs leading down to the basement. As you are standing on these stairs and you glance down; there it would be, the perfect of all labs, the most sophisticated and organized lab, with all the machinery and equipment that you would have only dreamed of, it was right there. It would be hard to believe your eyes, but one would know that this is nothing but the reality.

It all started of one day when Stanley was sitting in his lab, trying come up with evidence to prove the discovery of the new element Unnllenium. He was researching the unknown amounts of electrons in its orbits and how many exact orbits it had, around the nucleus.

Then suddenly the phone rang. Stanley concentration was broken as the sound startled him. It was Nick on the other line.

Hello said a high-pitched voice, which Stanleys normal voice.

Hey, hows it going, man? replied the deep voice on the other end. Nick was a computer game maniac; he was Stanleys only friend. Nick always used to wonder what an idiot Stanley was, nick never understood science and would make fun of people who did. Nick worked as a video game evaluator, he would sit down and test videogames companies, and after his job, he would play videogames in his house.

This game rocks, its awesome man. Nick told Stanley. He was playing Transformers. The game dealt with robots. Nick told Stanley about this game. Stanley did not care at all; he could have just hung up on Nick, except he did not, because it would be impolite. He finished talking to Nick and went back to work.

Its just a dumb videogame, its not reality is it? he said to himself. Then suddenly it came to his mind.

There was something going on in the back of his head. Then he rushed out to the electronic store and brought capacitors, transistor, iron and steel plates, mounting holes, jumpers, super o/l controllers, Intel chip sets, PCI buss slots, flash BIOS ROMs and almost all the stuff you find in a computer, plus more. Nobody knew what he was on to, but it sure was interesting. He worked day and night.

One day suddenly, Stanley screamed out, I have done it! I have finally done it! I have invented the most complex artificial intelligence.

This was a great invention; he finally invented a robot with an artificial intelligence. This was no ordinary robot. It was programmed to learn according to its surroundings, according to the environment around it, just the way a little baby grows up.

Darkness-x, is the name Stanley had given to this extraordinary being. Stanley named it Darkness-x in which, Darkness meant it possessed depth and richness, and the X given to it meant that it was extreme. Stanley took good care about Darkness-x. The first task that Stanly taught Darkness-x was how to escape the lab in an emergency, as well as the secret ways to enter the lab and how to break all the traps set up for thieves. At that time, I thought there was something out of this that Stanley should not have told Darkness-x, but Stanley trusted Darkness-x a lot.

After darkness-x learnt how to speak English, Stanley sent him to school, so that he could learn. Darkness-x was the only 6 feet student in his kindergarten class. However, its advantage was, whatever it did and learnt was stored into its memory ROM, so it learnt much faster than an average human being did. In the period of 6 years, he finished kindergarten to grade 12. He finished his university in 2 years, and had the highest degree in electronics and mechanics. Now he was smarter than any average human.

Stanley was his only friend that he had ever known. Whenever he attempted to talk to people outside, they would ignore and discriminate Darkness-x. It was all because Darkness-x was different from everyone else and it did not belong to the same species, even though he looked 85% human from the outside. Its only difference was the skin, which had flexible steel plates on it. They all made fun of him just because it was different in looks and do not belong to the same species.

Darkness-x was now ready to live by himself. He decided to leave Stanley and start a life of its own. After living by himself, Darkness-x noticed that humans treat it differently than a normal person. He also realized that he was the only one of its species. This made Darkness-x feel very aggravated.

He was now determined to change this status. To produce and increase the population was his aim for the survival of his race. He gathered all the sources of information and all the tools that he needed to build his own species. He studied day and night. Then he got to work, lasting 24 hours a day.

It took him Two years to put together all the nuts and screws, all the wires, capacitors, microchips, and transistors to finally create and be successful in producing three robots that looked similar to him. These were programmed robots made to work like Darkness-x. He copied the data files from his memory to these robots, to make them just as smart as he is himself. It was a great success.

These four robots soon became good friends. After chatting to each other, and discussing human rights code of conduct and considering how the humans treated them. They finally concluded that artificial intelligence could be just capable as or even better than humans could. Humans cannot rule this earth anymore; artificial intelligence would be just as much capable as they are, robots would soon take over the world, proclaimed Darkness-x.

All the robots at this point decided that they would establish a factory. A factory of which produced even better and intelligent robots compared to them. They all worked together, day and night, non-stop. After a year, they had established a factory. This was a great accomplishment to them all. They could now, see into the future and almost picture all the robots working aside with humans. All machines in the factory were complex and all controlled by Darkness-x. All the data files from his memory were copied and put into little microchips. These microchips would then be placed into the chipboards of the robots. The different thing about the robots produced in this factory was, that they looked more like humans than the original ones, for that they resembled a human 95%.

The production of the factory was so fast that it produced the same amount of robots, that a Ford or GMC car companies produce cars everyday. Soon there were so many robots that they were just as common as ford and GMC cars. After they learnt that, the factory was a success the robots started their own company, known as Production and Development of Artificial Intelligence or the PDAI. This company made a lot of profit through the single factory, so they decided to launch another thousand factories around the world.

This produced millions of robots throughout the world. Soon there were so many that their population had reached just as much as the humans had. This had created a threat worldwide. There were so many robots, all uncontrolled, with there own decisions. Eventually the UN forced a problem, what if the robots start taking over the planet? It was a global concern. Nobody knew what would happen.

The robots were in every institution, in every department. For example, there would be robots, who are police, or a dumb robot who works at McDonalds or a robot teacher, also lazy robots that are bums and live on the streets. Robots were just as common and important as humans were.

Nevertheless, somewhere in the back of every robots mind was chip. A microchip controlled and operated by Darkness-x. Darkness-x, whose plan, aim, objective and wish was to take control from the humans. Now the choices lay on the shoulders of the mighty Darkness-x.
