Host: Daryl Bradford Smith

Guest: The Coward Eric Hufschmid and "Chris"

Here are today's lies, misstatements, disinformation, and stupidity:

(1) Daryl Bradford Smith says that his information cannot be refuted because it appears in so many sources. At the same time, he constantly complains about UFO Web sites as being “malarkey.” But I can find the same proliferation of Web sites stating that UFOs exist. In short, the amount of information is not proof that it is true. Disinformation is still disinformation, no matter how many times repeated.

(2) “Chris” comes on and begins “quoting” from the Talmud. His first is the famous line from the minor Tractate Soferim, “The best of the Gentiles should be killed.” An explanation of this quote that refutes Chris’s references is found here: http://talmud.faithweb.com/articles/kill.html

(3) Chris refers to a New Republic article about Chabad-Lubavitch, citing a reference in the article to a book on Chabad. He fails to mention, however, that the writer of the peace also notes the following: “In the normative rabbinic and Jewish philosophical traditions, Israel's choseness was most commonly seen to derive from God's revelation of the Torah at Mount Sinai. It was the uniqueness of their religion, not of their race, that distinguished Jews from others. Only a very small number of idiosyncratic medieval Jewish theologians -- most notably the poet and philosopher Judah Ha-Levi in twelfth-century Spain and the mystic Judah Loewe in sixteenth-century Prague -- sought to define the Jewish distinction racially rather than spiritually. Yet it was precisely this minority view, according to which there is something innately superior about the Jews, that was rehabilitated in its most extreme form by Shneur Zalman of Lyady. The founder of Lubavitcher Hasidism taught that there is a difference of essence between the souls of Jews and the souls of gentiles, that only in the Jewish soul does there reside a spark of divine vitality . . . Shneur Zalman's racism far exceeded the much more limited religious elitism of the few earlier rabbis who subscribed to a racial theory of Jewish choseness. It is virtually without precedent and without parallel in the history of Jewish thought.” So what Chris is doing is presenting the specifically Lubavitcher point of view (if it is in fact valid – I don’t personally know) as the “Jewish” point of view, which New Republic author Nadler makes clear it is not.

(4) Chris also quotes an article from Ha’aretz [1]quoting R’ Kook on the distinction between the Israelite and Gentile souls. Chris conveniently leaves out the very next paragraph: “The Shulhan Arukh, a code of halakha compiled in the 16th century, is actually considered fairly free of these kinds of comments and rulings.” The Shulchan ‘Arukh is actually the most binding volume of Jewish Law, far more adhered to than the teachings of R’ Kook or the Lubavitchers.

(5) Chris “quotes” from the Zohar, but I can’t find the reference he makes in any Zohar I’ve looked at (3:282a). Here is Zohar 3:282: “282. The secret of this, AS WAS SAID IN THE BOOK OF FORMATION (HEB. SEFER YETZIRAH), is that He sealed the top and turned upwards to Yud Hei Vav on the right side, which is Chesed, THE FIRST PERMUTATION. Then, He turned to Hei Vav Yud on the left side, Gvurah, THE SECOND PERMUTATION; to Vav Hei Yud on the central pillar, TIFERET, THE THIRD PERMUTATION; to Yud Vav Hei in Netzach, THE FOURTH PERMUTATION; to Hei Yud Vav in Hod, THE FIFTH PERMUTATION; to Vav Yud Hei in Yesod, THE SIXTH PERMUTATION. The tree which connects them all is Tiferet, AS TIFERET COMPRISES ALL OF THE SIX DIRECTIONS. It is a fruit-bearing tree. Whenever the tree falls, there will be Yud Hei Vav, AN ALLUSION THAT TIFERET IS CALLED BY THE THREE LETTERS YUD HEI VAV ALONE, AND THE LAST HEI, MALCHUT, IS CONNECTED TO IT. THEREFORE, ITS SIX DIRECTIONS ARE DISTINGUISHED BY THE SIX PERMUTATIONS OF YUD HEI VAV. Similarly, in every Yud Hei Vav Hei OF THE SIX DIRECTIONS, there is Hei as last letter, a peace offering (Heb. shlamim) TO YUD HEI VAV HEI, AS THE LAST HEI COMPLETES (HEB. MASHLEMET) YUD HEI VAV HEI. And all the Yud Hei Vav Hei's OF THE SIX DIRECTIONS are attached to it thus, Yud Hei Vav together with Hei turns into Yud Hei Vav Hei; Hei Vav Yud together with Hei is Hei Vav Yud Hei; Vav Hei Yud with Hei is Vav Hei Yud Hei. So it is with the other Yud Hei Vav Hei's.”

I see no mention of Lilith or Esau or Ishmael here.

(6) Next Chris cites the Bible on the nation of Amalek. He claims that these verses have been “interpreted by Kabbalists” for control over Gentiles.

(7) Daryl Bradford Smith again claims that John Kerry is Jewish. While it’s true that Kerry descends from partial Jewish ancestry, Kerry himself is a Catholic.

(8) Daryl Bradford Smith quotes Ray McGovern to the extent that the U.S. has no treaties with Israel. “Chris” responds that Israel cannot make treaties because of their presumed superiority complex. But they have treaties with Egypt and Jordan, don’t they?

(9) Daryl Bradford Smith says that Muhammad was poisoned by a Jewish woman. Muhammad died a natural death. This notion of Muhammad being assassinated is not mainstream Muslim belief. And Muhammad had a Jewish wife, Safiyya bint Huyayy.
