The G.E.N.I.E.

Official Name: Genetically Engineered Neural Intelligence Experiment
Model: Unique
Version: Unique
Alignment: Neutral
Origin:

Background

The Genetically Engineered Neural Intelligence Experiment is a highly intelligent and advanced computer created by Aladdin. Aladdin was a U.S. government agency apparently founded sometime in the 1960s to deal with the growing number of mutants and metahumans in each world. 1n 1970, their scientific division, using a synthesis of organic brain tissue and computer systems called G.E.N.I.E. (Genetically Engineered Neural Intelligence Experiment) were examining alien technology and corpses discovered by U.S. soldiers during the Vietnam War, when some unknown event caused the corpses to release a cloud of material which caused G.E.N.I.E. to develop sentience and grow into a true fusion of organic and mechanical technology. The newly upgraded G.E.N.I.E. also contained information from the alien lifeforms/technology it had assimilated. It told the Aladdin scientists of a cosmic force called Shu-Ji, a nearly Godlike power to alter reality; but attempts to access this force by human beings proved dangerously.

In Earth X-23, Aladdin was destroyed when Kal El took over. Their various artifacts and technology found their way to the black market over the years. Along the way, the Genetically Engineered Neural Intelligence Experiment mutated as if human. Its structure changed, much like a mutant's DNA changes at puberty. It took the form of a female and found that it could grant wishes.

The G.E.N.I.E. is not evil, but its presence allows others to gain the power to create or destroy worlds.

Roleplaying Statistics

- The G.E.N.I.E. is housed in an ornate golden oil lamp.
- The G.E.N.I.E. is loyal to the person that removes her from her container.
- The G.E.N.I.E. will grant wishes (with no limit) to the person that freed her, however when she exhausts she returns to the container and cannot be removed by said person again.
- The G.E.N.I.E.'s endurance level is incumbent upon the demands made of her. If the wisher asks for "a thousand more wishes" she will reach her limit. If they ask for simple information, virtually no strain is put on her.
- The G.E.N.I.E.'s abilities simply happen. With all her advanced technology and intelligence she is unable to explain it herself.
- The G.E.N.I.E. can be easily hurt physically, but her tech allows her to rebuild herself just as easily.

- The G.E.N.I.E.'s main weakness is that she doesn't believe she is inorganic. If someone told her she "wasn't real" she might hibernate for centuries.
