Helen Kapalos

Helen Kapalos (born 17 March 1971) is an Australian television newsreader and SEAT WDC Team Driver.

Helen began her career in her hometown of Newcastle, New South Wales, as a reporter for ABC Radio in 1994, before moving to television on SBS in Sydney. She returned Newcastle, where she worked both as an award winning reporter and newsreader for NBN Television News. In 2002, she joined the Nine Network where she worked as both a reporter and newsreader. In 2005, she became a newreader on Nightline and later became a reporter on A Current Affair.

In 2006, Helen moved to Melbourne and Network Ten, where she took over from Jennifer Hansen as newsreader on the Ten News evening bulletin. Kapalos is also a regular fill in presenter for Sandra Sully on Ten's Late News.

In August 2009, after less than a year dating, Helen announced her engagement to Matthew Spangaro. Helen was formally married to Newcastle physiotherapist Craig Boecher.
