[edit] Quick Help
- This is a wiki. That means three main things:
- It uses markup to format pages -- a simpler markup than HTML. In most cases, you may freely mix in HTML markup, too.
- Anybody (generally) can edit any page.
- Old versions of each page are stored under "Page History", so nothing is ever lost. Don't worry about messing up.
- Press "Show preview" to see what your edit will do.
- It's usually a good idea to put a few words into the edit Summary. This text will show up in the History.
- Don't forget to press "Save Page" before closing your browser. Failure to save is the leading cause of editing frustration.
- Change your editing preferences at Special:Preferences. You can choose how links are formatted, whether previews appear above or below the editing box, etc.
- Consider editing the page in a word processor. Click "Edit this page", copy the entire markup text, paste it into your word processor. Edit the markup -- add or delete text, change the formatting, check spelling. Then reverse the process; copy the markup and paste it into the wiki edit box.
- Please feel free to experiment. This is the best way to see what things do. Click something! Try it! It's really very easy.

[edit] A last word
People with no computer skills at all use wikis every day. It's that easy. And truly, it's impossible to really mess it up. Really!
