The watchlist is a great way to keep track of your favorite pages.

The Watch link (found at the bottom of every page)

Watching a page

When you log into your account at BluWiki, at the bottom of every page is a link titled "Watch." When you visit pages where you would like to keep track of the changes that are made, clicking this will create a report in your own watch list (See Special:Watchlist). In this screen, a list ordered by the most recent changes at top is shown, along with the other details such as:

  • The date of the last edit
  • The difference between the current version and the last edit, along with the user who made the edit and any summary they left
  • Whether the edit was major or minor

You can also choose to watch a page when you are editing an article by clicking the radio button 'watch this page' at the bottom of the screen.

Automatically watching pages you edit

By making changes to a page, you show that you are interested in the subject discussed on that page. So it stands to reason that you would like to "watch" that page so you can see further changes that are made by other people. In particular, if you add a comment to a user's talk page, you will probably want to watch that page to see that user's replies.

As luck would have it, there's a wonderful way to make this happen, automatically.

Here's how: click "preferences" at the top of your screen, click "editing", then check the box labeled "Add pages you edit to your watchlist". Save your preferences. From then on, every page you edit will be automatically added to your watchlist.

Unwatching a page

You can remove a page from your watch list a few different ways:

  1. If you go to the page you are watching, you will find that the watch tab has now changed to unwatch. Clicking this will remove the page from your watch list.
  2. Go into your watch list, and at the top is a link called show and edit complete list, along with some statistics on the pages you are watching. In this page you can select as many pages as you want, and unwatch them all in one hit. This is great if you are watching many pages.
