Q: How do I gain Monkey Bucks?

A: There are 4 ways to get Monkey Bucks (MBs). The first is to sell cards in your shops (the shops have a 10-item limit). The second way is to level up, which gives you 1000 MBs. The third way is to finish off a set, which nets you 5000 MBs. But the faster and more common way is to find a treasure chest, which shows up as a random banner while looking through the monkeys' packs.

In the treasure chests you'll find MonkeyBucks in the denominations of 25, 50, 100, 250, 500, 750, and 1000 MBs.

Q: What are Monkey Tokens, and how do I get them?

A: Monkey Tokens are currency used in the premium markets (Antiques, Promos, Sneak Previews, and Treasure Trove). You can buy the Monkey Tokens with money via PayPal by going to the "Buy MTs" tab. You can buy MTs for the following prices:

  • 100 Monkey Tokens for $10
  • 300 Monkey Tokens for $25
  • 650 Monkey Tokens for $50
  • 1600 Monkey Tokens for $100

Q: What's the difference between medals and cards?

A: Nothing beyond design. The game used to focus on collecting medals but has since shifted to collecting cards instead. Only card sets are made now, so the FAQ only refers to cards instead of medals now.

Q: Why do cards not appear in the shops when the wiki says they're supposed to be there?

A: Once a card is out of stock then it will not be shown in a supermarket until it is back in stock, so players will have to keep visiting the supermarket to see if the card is there.

The supermarkets carry different types of cards:

Malwart and Kilwinsons both stock COMMON cards. Once a card is released in these supermarkets there will be 100 of each one available, and once the card runs out of stock it will be a short while before the card is back in stock.

Bainsurys stocks UNCOMMON cards. Once a card is released in these supermarkets there will be 50 of each one available, and once the card runs out of stock it will be a considerable while before the card is back in stock.

Sparks and Mencer stocks RARE cards. Once a card is released in these supermarkets there will be only 25 of each one available, and once the card runs out of stock it will be a quite long while before the card is back in stock.

Q: How often do cards restock?

A: The cards restock quicker if more people visit the supermarket. If you keep visiting, then the card that you are looking for will be back in stock.

Q: I see that there are cards that are only found in the monkeys' packs. What's this all about?

A: These items used to be found in treasure chests, but now they randomly appear in the monkey's packs.

Q: What are artefacts?

A: In card sets (as opposed to medal sets), these will be 4 monkey statues -- one bronze, one silver, one gold, and one chrome. The gold monkey is gained by being one of the first 100 to collect the entire set (including promo and title cards), the silver monkey is gained by being one of the second 100 to collect the entire set, and the bronze monkey is gained by completing the set but not being one of the first 200 to do so. The chrome monkey is gained by completing the set and by collecting all the chrome cards as well.

Q: What are chrome cards?

A: Chrome cards are rare and can be obtained when making market purchases, by combining ingredient cards, or found in the monkeys' packs. There is no way to tell when a chrome card will appear, but you'll definitely know it when it does.
