Snapple Coupons

From BluWiki

Snapple is owned by the Dr. Pepper Snapple Group and is based out of Plano, Texas. These blended forms of tea and juice are available in a variety of flavors. The company adopted the name “Snapple” for the company in the early 1980s. The name is derived from carbonated apple juice that had a “snappy apple taste.”

In 1994, the Quaker Oats Company purchased Snapple for $1.7 billion. By 1997, the Quaker Oats Company had sold the company to Triarc in 1997.

This time the purchase price reached $300 million. Cadbury Schweppes purchased the company from Triarc for $1.45 billion in September 2000. In 2008, the Dr. Pepper Snapple Group purchased the company.

Snapple is preferred by its customers because of its natural ingredients. The drink is made with sugar as opposed to high fructose corn syrup. The company began this process in 2009 after a lawsuit was filed against the company for printing “all natural” on their label, when in fact the drink was made with processed food products.

The company also purported to sell drinks that contained fruits that it did not contain. High fructose corn syrup has been linked to childhood obesity, diabetes and other dietary health problems.

This was especially important since many schools in the New York City School System offered the drink to the students as a part of their lunch program, in 2003. Snapple became New York’s official beverage.

In exchange for using the drinks in vending machines at school, the company promised to give $8 million per year to New York City schools. Along with Snapple, juice and bottled water were also sold.

Problems With Advertising

The “Real Facts” on the Snapple label were also inaccurate in many instances. This was disturbing because the New York City schools had an exclusive contract to sell from vending machines that student had access to.

The students learned inaccurate facts from the Snapple organization. The company cleaned up its brand image by ensuring the accuracy of the facts and also by converting to “all natural” ingredients as the label indicated.

Popular Forms of Snapple

Tea, juice, lemonade and bottled water are the most common products carried by Snapple. Lemon tea was introduced by the company in 1987. Consumers may purchase Snapple in a variety of flavors: Green Apple, Melon Berry, Grape, Orange Mango, Strawberry Lime and Fruit Punch. The juice drinks are fortified with vitamins and minerals. Over 15 types of fruits drinks are offered for consumers.

There are over 20 different tea types ranging from Green Tea to Peach Tea. Consumers may find a tea flavor that will quench their thirst. There are also ten different diet drinks, bottled water and four 100% Juiced drinks that consumers may purchase. There is a lot of variety and now the ingredients are better than before.
