Started in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1965, Subway is easily one of the largest restaurant franchises in human history. With a humble menu of submarine-style sandwiches, pizzas, salads, and recently-introduced breakfast items, there are approximately 34,200 Subway restaurants spread across 95 countries, making it the largest single-name franchise in the world.

With a menu that is equal parts affordable and delicious, it's made a name for itself as the healthiest fast food in the world. If you're looking for something that will satisfy your hunger without expanding your waistline, be sure to plan a direct route to your nearest Subway.

Menu Options

Making its name on fast submarine sandwiches, Subway has nearly limitless possibilities when it comes to what you can eat. Most outlets have many deli items which have become the industry standard, such as ham, turkey, roast beef, and a plethora of garden-fresh vegetables.

Moreover, there are a few signature items that you may not be able to find at all locations, such as meatballs, roast chicken, and veggie patties. Each location has a few cheese selections one can choose from for their sandwich, the standard choices being American, Swiss, Provolone, Cheddar, Pepper Jack, and Parmesan. If you like a bit more flavor in your sandwich, you can choose from a variety of sauces, ranging from classics like Balsamic Vinaigrette to their signature Chipotle sauce.

With so many options, it's easy to see why Subway has such a wide range of appeal.

More Than Subs

However, Subway is more than simply sandwiches. As stated above, the restaurant has a wide range of options of offerings for people who like to have their food outside of the bounds of sandwich bread. Their salads are low-calorie options bursting with fresh greens, cheeses, and flavorful dressings.

Subway, Eat Fresh

The pizzas offer succulent meats and cheese and are a great break from cold sandwiches, while the breakfast items combine eggs, cheese, and ham with the signature flatbread to make for a hearty and healthy way to start your day. If you're looking to eat, more like than not Subway has you covered with its wide variety of food that is more than enough to satisfy even the most selective of palates.

Coupons and Promotions

Easily the biggest promotion that Subway has is the $5 foot long, made famous by the plethora of advertisements featuring ordinary people singing the official jingle. As described by the commercial, any one of the standard sandwiches offered at Subway is only $5, which is almost like getting two meals in one.

However, as stated above, this only applies to their standard subs, so promotional items like the newly-added Chicken Cordon Blue sandwich or other premiere selections cost a bit more. However, Subway is always introducing new sandwiches and deals to accompany them. All it takes is to become a fan of theirs on Facebook and Twitter and you'll soon find yourself with more great deals than you know what to do with!

Moreover, considering how many Subway outlets there are in the world, they are always mailing coupons out in their community. Be sure to check your mailbox often and you're sure to find a great way to save on your next meal.
