Talk:Living ENWorld:Format
From BluWiki
Should we require every page to have a link somewhere to the enworld.org messageboard, citing the thread where the page's info is from? I think this would be a good way of keeping a reference back to the main site. We could keep the links in the Talk pages, hidden from the general public, but available to editors looking for the original source of the info. Rae ArdGaoth 02:54, 12 March 2007 (EDT)
- Talk page sounds good to me. I don't think it needs to be more than that. Eques Concordia 12:57, 12 March 2007 (EDT)
[edit] Capitalization?
We might want to establish a consensus on how to write Living ENWorld here. I usually write it as Enworld when referring to the world itself, and LEW for the campaign. I mix Living ENWorld and Living Enworld, and I'm not sure which I use more. Eques Concordia 19:24, 13 March 2007 (EDT)
- I call the planet "Enworld", sort of like Earth. I call the campaign and the game as a whole "Living ENWorld", because the name of the messageboard host is ENWorld (Eric Noah World, I believe). It doesn't make sense to refer to the game as Living Enworld, because that's like saying "Living Earth" which is a little redundant (or hippy/conservationist). Likewise, it doesn't make sense to refer to the planet as ENWorld, because it's not Eric Noah's planet. It is a necessary annoyance to place the "Living ENWorld:" pseudo-namespace before every page, however, because we don't want to conflict with other pages on Bluwiki. I could have used LEW, which might have made linking easier. If we're going to make that switch, let's do it now, before the project becomes too big. I think the reason I used "Living ENWorld" is because it looked better at the top of every page. -Rae ArdGaoth 22:26, 13 March 2007 (EDT)
- In other words, pretty much what I do. I have no problems with the "namespace," I just wanted to talk about the in-article usage. Eques Concordia 12:11, 14 March 2007 (EDT)
[edit] Table of Contents
I added<div style="float:right">__TOC__</div>to the {{Living ENWorld}} template, because the Monobook skin (which I prefer) by default shows the Table of Contents in a stupid location. Is that annoying, should we add it selectively to pages that need it, what do you think? -Rae ArdGaoth 03:06, 20 March 2007 (EDT)
