Talk:Longwood University Sucks/Other Horror Stories

From BluWiki

So, I lived in what is now Lancer Park after being Stanely Park and then Lancer Village. I was in a 4 bedroom apartment with 3 other girls. At the beginning of the year I was in one of the rooms on the right side of the apartment. Halfway through the first semester I switched to the other EMPTY room on the other side of our apartment. I told the DA(desk aid) supervisor....who works directly with the REC...that I moved to the other side of our apartment and could I please have the key to the other bedroom. Also, during the second semester, one of my roommates friends started staying over every night in our spare room. She stayed for a few months until we moved out. Then they all left at the end of the year. Longwood University sent me an email a month or two after moving out telling me that I had a $255 damage fee! Apparently, even though there was no one else living in it and it was OUR APARTMENT, me moving from one side to the other was an "illegal room change" which I didn't know about. You would think that someone would have told me that I couldn't move or that I had to tell someone. I mean, what's the big deal? It's the same apartment? They also said that there was furniture that had been removed from the room I was originally in. I told them I wasn't even in that room anymore. They also tried to charge me extra because the apartment wasn't clean enough for them. I don't know how I was supposed to clean the entire place by myself with no cleaning supplies! The worst part is, I filled out the appeal form and sent it in and I haven't heard anything back from them at all. My parents said that, if we have to pay for that fee, I have to pay for it myself. That's a lot of money coming out of the little bit I get from my summer job. Longwood University is completely unfair and they are not reasonable about anything. I am completely convinced that all they want is your money and they are not concerned about your education at all.
