This, this, and this are examples of organization constitutions. Their goals are different from ours but it should still serve as a good example for how the document should look.

Remember, our constitution should reflect out goals and be compatible with our bylaws.

The Constitution of the Novos Party

Article I - Name

This organization shall be know as the Novos Party (hereinafter referred to as “Novos”).

Article II - Mission and Objectives

Mission

The mission of Novos is to unify all countries of the world and better the lives of people as a whole through a single, united assembly.

Objectives

The objectives of Novos are:

1. to recruit new members to join and support Novos
2. to unify all nations into one government truly of and for the people
3. to reform the current governments to that which provides people of all walks of life with their natural rights and dignities
4. to minimize corruption
5. to peacefully resolve existing conflicts through diplomatic processes
6. to socially and economically reform to better suit a world community while still maintaining respect and room for existing cultures and traditions

Article III - Duration

The Novos Party shall exist perpetually so long as the members recognize the party as an existing union capable of exercizing it's power.

Article IV - Address

The address of Novos shall be determined at a later date by the Board of Directors.

Article V - General Powers

Novos is organized exclusively to promote world unity, and to do all things as may be necessary and proper to carry out any of the foregoing purposes for which Novos is organized.

Article VI

No part of the net earnings of Novos shall inure to the benefit of, or be distributable to, its Directors, Officers, or other private persons, except that Novos shall be authorized and empowered to pay reasonable compensation for services rendered and to make payments and distributions in furtherance of the purposes set forth in Article V hereof.

Article VII

No Director or Officer of Novos shall in any way be personally liable or responsible for any debt or obligation incurred by, or on behalf of, or imposed upon Novos.

Article VIII

A Board of Directors consisting of not less than five (5) persons shall manage the affairs of Novos. Novos shall have such members and such classes of membership as may be specified from time to time in Novos’ Bylaws. The Board of Directors shall be elected from time to time in the manner provided in the Bylaws.

Article IX

Upon dissolution of Novos, the Board of Directors shall, after paying or making provision for the payment of all liabilities of Novos, dispose of all the assets of Novos exclusively for the purposes of Novos in such manner, or to such organization or organizations as the Board of Directors shall determine.

Article X

These articles may be amended by a vote of two-thirds (2/3) of members in good standing in which no less than one-fourth (1/4) of members in good standing have participated

Article XI

The number of Directors constituting the first Board of Directors of Novos shall be at least six (6), and the tenure in office of the members of the first Board of Directors shall be until the first Annual Meeting and until their successors are elected and qualified, but not exceeding one year. The name of each first Director is:

Article XII

The Constitution may be amended by a vote of two-thirds (2/3) of members in good standing in which no less than one-half (1/2) of members in good standing have participated.
