[edit] Is there a reason you (aka me) keep all your planets in your Eden system when your Orion system offers much more housing even with the Eden upgraded to Level X?
This is a conversation I got with one of the players -=-=-=-=-=- > One question.... is there a reason you keep all your planets in your Eden system when your Orion system offers much more housing even with the Eden upgraded to Level X? I`m 99% sure that you get your money by taxing, and wondering why you don`t use the Orion system to keep your population.
because the Eden system has a much greater defense bonus and the tax the population pay is not dependant on the system type, only the growth rate is, and an Eden lvl X offers a pretty good growth rate another thing is that I got my Eden and my Darks leveled up to lvl X and I got 7 of the systems (the max you can get), then I finished the missions and got the Orion and the Titan, so I can't get any of them as main system unless I destroy all 7 before them, and I won't do that, since they add to my total +% defense of my main system -=-=-=-=-=-
[edit] How can I raise my empire level?
By increasing your population number.
Read here what population you need for different empire levels.
[edit] Should I upgrade my loyalty on my systems
On every system you have population on, you'll need to upgrade the loyalty to 5000 (sometimes you get even three times the taxes after upgrading to 5k loyalty from a previous 0 loyalty) and keep it this way as long as you keep population on that system. Why? because tax income is based on two things: your tax collector level on your system and on your loyalty of the system
on the rest of the systems you don't have population on, upgrade the loyalty to over 300. that's enough to help you against sabotages
[edit] I got several systems now, what is better keep a large fleet in just one or two or spread out try and defend the lot?
One big fleet and keep it on the system you think it's of most interest to you
[edit] What is a stack?
- a stack is a line in the fleet page with all the ships with the same type
- on the fleet page you'll see all your ships grouped together based on their type
one line of ships at that page is called stack of ships the idea is that the stacks fight against other stacks (of the enemy) what you should do? find those stacks which favour you mostly (win more than you lose)
[edit] Basicaly, how do i keep these raiders of my back? retaliaton usually is as effective as shooting spitballs at a truck.
I don't know, you'll have to figure it out yourself. depends on what kind of person you are: attack-driven or defense-driven
[edit] Are there any tricks for researching K class?
nope, just click on that damn button until it's done :)
[edit] Now I'm in debt (with $-763,370,569 for example)
every time you're in debt, try not to use turns and signal your lord (aka me ;) ) disband all your fleets (from the outpost too) and don't build any other fleet even if you're under siege then go to the income page and check if you're on plus, at "Profit / Lost". depending on what you see there:
1) if you're on plus you can get out of debt by using turns to use turns you can either research technology (in the lower part of the research page), or (in case you're done with that) just research infrastructure (usually it's about researching housing)
2) if you're on minus, just send a message to your lord (aka me ;) ) and ask him to help you recover, explain what you've done don't use turns any more (not even for researching) in case your lord (aka me ;) ) is not online or is not responding (away), then just read some guides or the help of the game, or just logout and get on with your life for an hour or two, then check again if you got an answer
Hope this will help you when you're in need
[edit] How should I use the space projects? I mean, on which systems and all?
use it on the systems you wanna keep
[edit] Can I use the space projects as many times as I want?
as long as your empire level is the same or increases you can use them every 18 hours
[edit] Should I defend my Orion?
<< Begin dialogue about this on the PM >>
- defend your Orion (the bigger one), this is the pride of your empire. other races have other systems and they might not have yours. look into the manual to find out about this
- It is. why?
- you can`t get a second one, except by restarting. the Orion is the best system a terran can get, to use it for population
Ok thanks
<< End dialogue about this on the PM >>
[edit] What kind of tribute can I receive?
You can receive only food and money. Usually it's better to get tributes under the form of food (sell it on the market for 15/piece if you don't need it).
[edit] How can I increase the chance of getting daily tributes from my lord?
To do this first ask your lord if he gives tribute to the vassals who contribute the most with the population from all his vassals. If he does (I do ;) ), then all you have to do is to get more population than the others and you'll probably get a daily tribute ;) if you don't know how to increase your population, just ask your lord. he'll be very happy you're asking about increasing your population ;)
[edit] What's so good about orion systems?
they are better than an already upgraded Eden to lvl X check this: http://uc2.gamestotal.com/manual/?/economy_systemlist the Eden lvl X has a bonus to population to +180 an Orion has the same bonus to +200
and the Orion is a very good spot for digging artifacts ;)
[edit] Pardon me for asking, but why? So far I have had people attack all but the orion systems, it`s starting to get a little annoying...
the idea is to develop as a taxing race (terran mostly, since most of the people are terran)
I'm preparing right now a guide - how to become one very good taxing terran
the idea of one system races is that you can defend that system very nice when you get more planets ;)
[edit] Why should I sell my food for 15/piece?
well, food in UC is a very rare material ;) even if the market is full, don't think this is the fact. lots of users come and empty the food market within seconds
so, don't sell the food for less than 15/piece, you're basically losing money
[edit] What do you need to research Adv Scout?
go to http://uc.gamestotal.com/manual/races/races_terran.html then search for your race and see what are the requirements
[edit] how do i move ships without destroying them???
when opening the fleet page you'll have on the right side of the page a move link below the primary link menus click it and then select which system is the destination
[edit] what is the formula for making food on a system?
food produced = infra * (research/10 + minister lvl/10 + system bonus/100 + 3) * race mod
note that research refers only to agriculture research and minister lvl refers only to the farmer lvl of the current minister assigned to the system
[edit] when it says a dark system is good for defence, what exactly does it do for defence?
let's assume you have 6 systems and the last one is your main system every system adds to your last system's defence (aka main system) since the dark systems lvl x add the maximum (+6%), by having like 5 Dark systems in front of your main system you'll end up having +30% defence on your main system ;)
[edit] Unfortunatly i didn`t find how i should do to have ministers
To be able to have ministers you need the Minister's Office project
To be able to train ministers you need the Minister's Training project
To find out what you need to research for these projects look here Project Research info
[edit] Is there any bonus from being in a federation?
look at the following dialogue:
> Do the federations playing an important role in the actual game? I'm in a federation but I feel that what you can do in the game with the federation is quite limited. Theres just one column of discussion and one shared outpost. > But if so, could you tell me the actual general relations between big federations?
well some feds are allied and they give each other DP
yes, the feds are playing a major role in this game
that outpost you're speaking about can be the difference between a defeat or a win when you're defending against an attacker greater than you
[edit] Are the bad things happening when digging affecting you?
look at the following dialogue:
> does this mean i can`t do any more digging or is this just one of the things that can happen when digging for artifacts?
>
> Excavation site collapses !
> 197,914 paid to excavators as compensation !
you can dig, but from time to time, bad things happen ;)
they pass, you pay the price and then you can dig more ;)
[edit] How do I know if my lord is active?
you can see whether your lord is on or not if you see the icon with "a" (active) next to his name, when pressing "lord" from your "manage empire" menu
