Wings of Wax (Will o' Wisp)

Wings of Wax is the 15th video of the Will o' Wisp series.

(Sound of an airplane, newspaper headline: FLYING MACHINE TAKES TO THE AIR!)

Overlay: Ladies and Gentlemen!

(Blurry picture of Big Ben?)

Overlay: Fasten your safety belts.

(Change to a cityscape, then Golden Gate Bridge.)

Overlay: I expect some turbulence along the way. Nothing to worry about, though. Unless you're the one causing it.

(A flaming ball falling from the sky.)

Overlay: Something you may want to consider, before you bring about any undo turbulence...

(Shadow birds.)

Overlay: You can't keep secrets from someone who talks to birds.

(More birds, and then a statue of a boy wearing a turban.)

(Picture: a frowning face made of birds.)

Overlay: Don't get me wrong. I still trust you.

(Picture: The frowning person is shown to be a woman.)

Overlay: I mean...we're friends, right? And besides...

(Picture: A young noblewoman reads a book.)

Overlay: We both know what's at stake here.

(The Tower tarot card.)

Overlay: I've another friend who's a lot like you.

(Will o' Wisp light picture.)

Overlay: He wants to fly on wings made of wax.

(Picture: Icharus?)

(Picture: Icharus again.)

(Picture: Women mourning Icharus.)

Overlay: He's a fool. Always a tragedy when that sort of thing happens, isn't it?

(Picture: A young woman in the woods.)

Overlay: His foolishness has really put a damper on his relations, too. Why that poor girl is about to lose her head just thinking about it. I know because she confides in me.

(A woman (with wings?) swooning.)

Overlay: Eventually she'll die gibbering just like poor Ophelia. But whatever. I just hope something like that doesn't happen to your girl. She's such a sweet thing. What was it again? Oh yeah...Mary. The name just drips from one's lips.

(Picture: an eye hangs in the air, dripping.)

  • This video was in reply to Them stones. It seems to indicate that Kris has failed StormGenie in some way, and StormGenie is threatening Mary.
  • The tower tarot card: "No card scares a Tarot reader like the Tower - or the person they're reading for if that person knows anything about Tarot cards. It is however one of the clearest cards when it comes to meaning. False structures, false institutions, false beliefs are going to come tumbling down, suddenly, violently and all at once. What's important to remember as a tarot reader is that the one you're reading for likely does not know that something is false. Not yet. To the contrary, they probably believe that their lover is being faithful, that their religious beliefs are true and right, that there are no problems in their family structure, that everything is fine at work...oh, and that they're fine. Just fine, really. Alas, they're about to get a very rude awakening. Shaken up, torn down, blown asunder. And all a reader can really do to soften the blow is assure the Querent that it is for the best. Nothing built on a lie, on falsehoods, can remain standing for long. Better to tear it all down and rebuild on the truth. It is not going to be pleasant or painless or easy, but it will be for the best."
  • The description is from Ophelia's poem in Hamlet. "Grass gcker turf" is supposed to be "grass green turf." Decoding this, we get GREEN ALGAE.
