[edit] AnimeB Brigades
The Brigades were created as a later addition to the forums in support of group's favorite characters.
Originally starting with popular Love Hina characters, such as Naru and Shinobu, but later expanding with more subforums for popular characters, and individual threads for less popular brigades.
Later the brigades were expanded to incorperate Negima, and non Love Hina / Negima related brigades. (Including brigades that sometimes didn't have anything to do with Anime at all.)
Brigade Creation
The creation of a brigade is simple and informal. Those wishing to create a brigade must simply create a thread with the name of the brigade as the topic in the appropriate subforum. (Love Hina, Negima, or Other)
Registration to the brigade by other members varies depending on the brigade itself, but in general, one simply has to post in the brigades main or "Registration" thread stating they wish to become a member. The brigade creator or other ranking member of the brigade (if such heiarchy is established) will approve or deny for whatever reason.
Brigade Content
The content and activities of each brigade depend on the leadership decisions and brigade style, but most seem to have certian themes in common:
1. Registration Thread - Where people post to join the brigade. Sometimes this is just the main thread of the brigade where normal conversation takes place.
2. Rankings - When a brigade develops, it is common for a ranking system to be formed. Usually with one person as "Leader", followed by higher ranking staff or specialized section heads, then general members. People can increase rank, often by completing certian tasks or Projects.
3. Picture Thread - Since most brigades deal with a certian character, it is not uncommon to have a thread dedicated to pictures of the character.
4. Projects - In order to increase status of the brigade as a whole, or individual members of the brigade, various projects are usually created to accomplish certian tasks (such as making Signatures or Banners for the brigade) or increase member rankings.
Brigade Subforums
When a brigade reaches a substantial size, the members and leaders may wish to petition for the brigade to aquire a subforum. This is often benificial for several reasons. The brigade will be more prominent, as it's subforum will be listed on the main brigade page, multiple threads will be grouped together in one place, and brigades dont have to worry about their brigades falling off the main page and being forgotten about.
To get a subforum, one must make a request in the "Brigade Registration" subforum. Requirements for a subforum include substantial activity, multiple threads, large membership, and of course, Admin approval.

The Love Hina Brigades are dedicated to Characters of the Anime, "Love Hina"
This was the first catagory created, and originally, all brigades were based off Love Hina.

As Akamatsu's new series gained in popularity, more "Negima" brigades began to emerge. Eventually, a whole new catagory was created to contain the new subject.
The brigades are in order of subforum creation.

[edit] Other Brigades
For some time, it was disputed if brigades not assiocated with Love Hina would be allowed. Many older members disagreed with the idea, believing that the brigades were "traditionally" Love Hina only, and should remain that way.
In the end, they were out voted, and any type of brigade would be allowed.
While the Negima Brigades originally started as 'other' type brigades, they moved into their own catagory, while this catagory remains for ANYTHING else.
Other Brigades can include, but aren't limited to: Anime Series, Games, Characters, Events, Forum Activities, or anything else anyone wishes. An example of one brigade that didn't revolve around a seperate manga or anime is the metal gear solid brigade or the surprisingly popular Final Fantasy Brigade
