Seams
From BluWiki
Unlike in sewing, where you have the right sides facing and the wrong sides out so that you can turn it and have the seam allowance on the inside, for knitting you keep the right sides on the outside. The seam allowance will be pulled into the inside by the way the stitches are formed.
First, pick up a "V" on on side of the work.
Then pull the yarn through and pull it not too tightly. Now, pick a "V" up from the other side of the work.
And again, pull through, but not too tightly. Every so often, give your work a tug to make sure it isn't bunching.
The video showing how to do this is here.
